The Drowsy Chaperone

Calling all...Musicians, Actors, Techies. Creatives, Dancers

There might be a space for you in The Drowsy Chaperone.  This all-state high school version of the play is looking for students from 15-19 to participate in this one-of-a-kind production.

This wonderful, wacky production is a beautiful tribute to all things theater and the Tony-Award winning musical brings home the idea of why we love Broadway so much.

Briefly, the show is about the "man in the chair" who plays his favorite production on his record player.  We get to see the production come to life in the retelling of a crazy vaudeville show.  One character after another tells their part of the story as the man in the chair walks us through his interpretation of the show.

The Elsinore Theater will be presenting the professional production of this show in May of 2020 followed by the Oregon Rising Star version of the show in July of 2020.  Every student involved will get an opportunity to work with their professional counterpart leading up to this inaugural launch of the Oregon  Rising Star Project.
